About Us ...

We foster stray or relinquished Lhasa Apsos for placement in homes under the rescue guidelines of the parent AKC breed club, the American Lhasa Apso Club. All dogs are spayed or neutered and fully vetted prior to placement. Dogs are fostered in-home for a minimum of four to six weeks in order to fully assess any medical conditions and/or behavioral issues. Applicants must undergo a screening process, including submission of an application, vet/reference checks, and, finally, a home check. We do not operate on a "first-come, first serve" basis - dogs are placed in the home most appropriate for the dog.

In addition, we offer education regarding breed traits, housetraining, and behavioral matters. We also assist those searching for a bred-to-standard Apso from ethical, responsible breeders specializing in health and temperament.

“We need another and a wiser and perhaps a more mystical concept of animals ...

We patronize them for their incompleteness, for their tragic fate of having taken

form so far below ourselves. And therein we err, and greatly err.

For the animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete

than ours, they move finished and complete, gifted with the extension of the senses

we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not

brethren, they are not underlings: they are other nations, caught with ourselves in

the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendour and travail of the earth."

"The Outermost House" - Henry Beston (1888-1968)
